Hear What Others Have to Say

Ann Marie A.

I took my first class at the Center about 3 years ago and have been attending classes consistently since then. What I love about the Center's classes is the simplicity and authenticity of the practice. No other yoga has had such a profound effect on me "off the mat" as the Sivananda practice.

Laura P.

This sacred place saved my life! Truly the most authentic and spirited yoga out there. Satsang and meditation are avail daily and free and will open your heart. Pure love here! Om Namah Sivaya!

Krisi D.

This place transformed my life. Everyone at this peaceful and blissful space is an incredible human. I am so very lucky to have started not just my yoga asana practice but also a practice of being a better human.

The Gift of Selfless Service

The Sivananda Yoga Center is run entirely by volunteers, some of them full-time. These Karma Yogis offer their time and energy as part of their own spiritual practice of Karma Yoga, or selfless service.

We need help now at the Center in many areas and are happy to welcome you to our much-appreciated community of volunteers. Even volunteering just one hour per week makes a big difference in the efficient functioning of the Center.

Areas where we could use help include:

  • Reception
  • Photography
  • Maintenance
  • Housekeeping
  • Gardening
  • Promotion/Marketing
  • Clerical Work
  • Teaching (Sivananda trained teachers)

If you have skills you would like to share with the Center, please contact Maitri, the Director, at chicago@sivananda.org
